New Features in Service Pack 8

Overview of general new features in NeuroCheck 5.1

Overview of new features in Service Pack 7

The eighth service pack of NeuroCheck 5.1 provides a number of minor improvements and fixes, listed in file History.txt, as usual.

  • NeuroCheck 5.1 introduced the export of a check routine in XML format. In addition, service pack 8 now provides an export of NeuroCheck's global configuration settings in XML format.

As for the check routine, the major benefit is an easy print-out and documentation of all global settings, e.g. the signals used for remote control or the designation of the I/O bits in the device manager. This can be useful to copy an application or to re-build a system in case of a hard disk crash. You also can track changes to the settings by comparing the XML files.

In contrast to the check routine, the configuration is exported automatically each time when settings have changed. So, in parallel to the still used binary NeuroCheck configuration file NcCfg.cfg, the NeuroCheck folder now will contain a new file called NcCfg.cfgx which holds the XML data. Open the cfgx file with the MS Internet Explorer to obtain a printable XSL visualization of the settings (see image).

If you download this service pack from the Internet please first execute the included file cfgx.reg. Thus the cfgx file extension will be assigned to the Internet Explorer.

  • The NeuroCheck driver for the Baumer NeuroCheck Edition IEEE 1394 (FireWire) cameras supports new camera models (see also Supported Cameras):

    FWX03/FWX03c with 656 x 494 pixel resolution at 70 frames per second.

    FWX20/FWX20c with 1624 x 1236 pixel resolution at 12 frames per second.

Please note that due to the changes a new Baumer optronic FWX system DLL Fxlib.dll version 5.0.1.25 or higher is required. We recommend to use a system driver Baumer1394.sys version 1.50.0.148 or higher.

In order to avoid compatibility problems in existing applications, the service pack for download from the Internet does not contain the new driver DLL. You can order both NeuroCheck driver DLL and low-level drivers from support@fsinet.com.

  • The NeuroCheck driver for the Basler BCam IEEE 1394 (FireWire) cameras also has been adapted to support new camera models (see Supported Cameras).

Please note that a Basler BCam low level driver version 1.8 is required.

In order to avoid compatibility problems in existing applications, the service pack for download from the Internet does not contain the new driver DLL. You can order both NeuroCheck driver DLL and low-level drivers from support@fsinet.com.

  • The driver for the mvTITAN frame grabber series now also supports the mvGAMMA-CL CameraLink frame grabber board for cost-effective operation of one BASE CameraLink camera.

Please note that a new Matrix-Vision mvTITAN low-level driver version 1.5.27.23 or higher is required.

In order to avoid compatibility problems in existing applications, the service pack for download from the Internet does not contain the new driver DLL. You can order both NeuroCheck driver DLL and low-level drivers from support@fsinet.com.
